Rosemary

Rosemary is a new Italian/Croatian restaurant that has recently opened. Located in the historic Fulton Market district of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, Rose Mary is Chef & Owner Joe Flamm’s debut restaurant inspired by his Italian heritage and the bold, bright flavors of Croatian cuisine. The restaurant was named for Flamm’s grandmothers, Mary and Mary Rose, and the herb rosemary, which grows natively along the Italian and Croatian coastlines. Rosemary has a gorgeous interior as well as an outdoor area. Our favorite dishes were the grilled cucumber salad, baby octopus, funghi risotto, and the wild halibut (will melt in your mouth.) And make sure to leave room for the squash cake for dessert! Rosemary is located at 932 W. Fulton Market and...

Bar Avec

Bar Avec is a brand new open-air rooftop located on the 8th floor of 640 N LaSalle drive. It has sweeping views of chicago’s magnificent downtown skyline. You can grab a quick drink and bite, go for day drinking and brunch with friends, or dinner under the stars. We recommend the side to side cocktail & the spicy mezcal margarita. Bar Avec is open 4-10pm Monday through Thursday and 4-11pm on Friday & Saturday.

Avli on the park

Avli has just opened it’s fourth location, Avli on the park, in lakeshore east. 180 N. Field Blvd was the old home of the III Forks Steakhouse. This is a beautiful location in one of our favorite Chicago neighborhoods. Avli is a fast growing modern Greek dining empire by chef Louie Alexakis and sports anchor Lou Canellis.  The new 13,000-square-foot tavern is completely transformed, with a gorgeous aesthetic meant to make diners feel like they’re vacationing on the Greek coast. Some of our favorite dishes were the lobster pasta, the octopus medley, the saganaki and the orange creme brûlée for dessert! Also male sure to check out their rooftop for a night cap after dinner. Their rooftop patio space offers stunning views of downtown Chicago. Avli on...

Andros Taverna

More than a year after leaving The Lettuce Entertain You restaurant group, Chef Doug Psaltis has returned with Andros Taverna, a Greek inspired restaurant in Logan Square. "This is a passion project we've been working on for years," said Psaltis. "I grew up eating the food at grandfathers Greek diner (Olympia Diner) and traveling around Greece. The restaurant is really based on family and traditional recipes through a contemporary lens." Psaltis' wife, Hsing Chen, is the pastry chef at the restaurant and said "We met while working together, we don't know anything else. We worked in several restaurants in various cities together. It's what we know and what we love. It works for us." Chen says to look for pastry items...

The Hoxton Hotel

The Hoxton Hotel opened today in the West Loop in Chicago. This international hotel has recently made their presence in the U.S. They have hotels in Paris, London, Amsterdam, New York, Portland and now Chicago. We were blown away with how gorgeous this hotel is. They have 2 restaurants (one on the lobby level and one on the rooftop) a very sexy basement bar, a mezzanine level with meeting rooms, a coffee shop, and a rooftop pool and lounge. You really don’t need to leave! The lobby instantly felt welcoming if you wanted to just sit and have coffee and work on your lap top or have a glass of wine and socialize. We will definitely be back very soon....
