Beatnik is a new restaurant and cocktail lounge in West Town (Corner of Chicago and Ashland.) This place is big on atmosphere. It felt like a Bohemian garden with a ton of greenery, Moroccan tile and candles and chandeliers everywhere. We even sat in a daybed transported here from Bali. Beatnik is the newest restaurant from the Bonhomme Hospitality Group (Celeste, Black Bull and Fulton Market Kitchen.) Manning the open kitchen are executive chef Marcos Campos and chef Jonathan Meyer. "The globe-spanning menu is an international dinner party," says Campos. He remixes the Mediterranean concept of small plates with flavors from Mexico, India and Korea to name a few. We highly recommend this place for dinner or just a cocktail (they even have alcoholic slushies!) It really captured our eye as soon as we walked in. Sexy vibe, gorgeous decor and great music. 1604 W. Chicago Ave. Open late on weekends till 2am.
